Q: Has anyone been in a situation like this? Our district is failing to come to an agreement and we want to show them how together and serious we are. Any ideas?
A: Before and during your next bargaining session have your members walk around the building where negotiations are taking place. Have them be cordial, upbeat and positive as a good image to the community. If you need a momentum change during the session discretely send a text message to someone in the group walking around outside and they can increase the noise level to let the district know their still waiting for a settlement. Kiki's idea is also a good way to show unity. We had every member wear our association shirts to school on the days we bargained. We settled 2.5 months before our old contract was up.
