Q: I have known plenty of people who somehow were passed into the real world with a diploma and they cannot read past a 4th grade lever or tell you what country Montana is in. How can they actually pass these people over like that? George Bush comes to mind.
A: It would most likely fall under the tort of negligence. Which means the individual would have to establish certain facts and then the school can provide a defense. With all of that it not an absolute guarantee that any one who cannot write would automatically be able to sue successfully.
