GRE for Graduate school?

Q: Im planning on applying to grad schools and hope to start spring of 2009 or at the latest Fall of 2009. If i take the GREs within a month, and apply by end of 2008, is it possible to start by spring of 09? When is a good time to take my GREs? like now? If i have a 2.9 GPA, what GRE score do i need to get into a decent school? I want to be in a counseling psyc program. Also, do i need to take the psyc GRE or just the general GRE? Thanks

A: 1) you need a 3.0 undergrad to get into a selective grad school. Do something about that 2.9 2) you could need neither GRE, some schools want the MAT, GMAT, etc... for entrance. It depends on the school. The scores are generally good for five years so take it whenever you'd like as long as there is time to get scores in time. 3) there's no good reason not to take the GRE general and subject - just in case you need them. 4) very few programs have a Spring start session. Summer is more likely and fall is most likely.
